Hyperion Ensemble dibināts 1992. gadā un kopš pirmsākumiem aizrautīgi pievērsies gan Astora Piazzolla mūzikai, gan tango visā tā krāšņumā. Kopš 2009. gada orķestris spēlē īpaši dejotājiem pielāgotu klasiskā tango repertuāru, ar vairāk nekā 1300 koncertiem visā pasaulē.
Orķestris darbojas kā sekstets – bandoneons, vijole, klavieres, kontrabass, flauta un vokāls (dažkārt arī ģitāra), radot spilgtu, enerģisku skanējumu. Flauta, kas bija tango orķestru daļa 19. gadsimtā, ienes skanējumā īpašu vēsturisko piesitienu un dziļumu.
Hyperion izceļas ar savām oriģinālkompozīcijām un aranžējumiem, kas kļuvuši populāri visā pasaulē, piemēram, “Midnight Express”, “Ludwig Van Milonga”, “Malafemmina”, “Tango della banana”, “Volare” u.c. Orķestris uzstājies ar pasaules mēroga tango māksliniekiem, tostarp Miguel Zotto, Roberto Herrera, Daniel Binelli, Franco Luciani, un, protams, arī Marisol Martinez.

Hyperion Ensemble, a Legendary Argentine tango orchestra http://www.ensemblehyperion.it/ with over 30 years of experience on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, embodies the authentic spirit of tango — joined by Marisol Martinez (Argentina), the velvet-voiced singer from Buenos Aires, whose soulful interpretations reveal the very heart of tango.
Founded in 1992, Hyperion Ensemble has passionately explored the music of Astor Piazzolla and the richness of the tango tradition. Since 2009, the orchestra has focused on a repertoire tailored for dancers, performing over 1,300 concerts worldwide.
Performing as a sextet — bandoneon, violin, piano, double bass, flute, and vocals (with occasional guitar) — Hyperion creates a vibrant, energetic sound. The presence of the flute, a key element in 19th-century tango orchestras, adds historical depth and a unique timbre to their performance.
Known for their original compositions and distinctive arrangements, the ensemble has produced globally popular pieces such as Midnight Express, Ludwig Van Milonga, Malafemmina, Tango della banana, Volare, and more. Hyperion has performed alongside world-renowned tango artists including Miguel Zotto, Roberto Herrera, Daniel Binelli, Franco Luciani — and of course, Marisol Martinez.
